Things You Can Learn From King of Romance

It was a typical day for me as I was fighting with complex problems of Costing just like most of the CA Final aspirants whose attempt will fall in the coming November. Suddenly a call from my bro gave me the news which none of the moviegoer w’d like to hear. Our dear Yash Ji who gave a new meaning to Romance Genre and for me was the “Doctor of Relationships” had breathed his last around at around 5.30 pm in Lilavati Hospital, Mumbai. With the death of Dev Anand, Rajesh Khanna, Shammi Kapoor and now Yashji one can say that romance in Bollywood is officially dead. According to me Yashji was an immense source of inspiration, and no one would ever fail in his life if he adopts even some of the qualities of this undisputed “King of Romance”. 

Always follow your heart- I think very few of you might know the fact that Yashji was ought to pursuit a career in Engineering from London. He came to Mumbai to get his passport made so that he can go to England, but destiny had something else written for him. He listened to heart and shared his dream of directing the films with his brother legendary B.R.Chopra. He made his debut as an assistant director to his brother B.R. Chopra in his home production “Dhool ke Phool” and rest all is history. It needs a strong heart and nerves of steel to leave a lavish life, drop a safe option and accept an altogether different option with lots of uncertainty and high risk of failure. So, to be successful in life one needs to take the right decision at the right time and for that, one s’d always follow what his heart says. Never contain yourself and aim for higher goals- Yashji has tasted success with Waqt, but he wants to reach greater heights that too on his own. So, he took a bold step and founded his own production company “Yash Raj Films” in 1973. He took the loan from Rakhee and made Daag starring Rajesh Khanna, Rakhee and Sharmila Tagore which was a Blockbuster. This production house gave him the platform to experiment with his work and transform his ideas into reality.
Accept your failures graciously– There was a time in 80’s when Yashji’s films bombed at box-office one after another. Even the cult-classics like Silsila and Kala Patthar c’d not bring audiences in the theatre. He had
two options – one to blame critics and fans for his failure and another to work hard with new enthusiasm and he chooses later. Even his regular distributors refused to buy Chandni, but he somehow managed to release it and it rocked the Box-office. If one wants to achieve high in his life then he s’d learn to accept his failures and make them an inspiration to do better next time. Accept the fact that you have lacked somewhere,
rectify your mistakes and give your best shot with full energy.

Never let the flavor of Success rules you- The best thing about Yashji was that he was never carried away by the glamour of his success. He was a very down to earth person. I have seen a lot of people who after getting a bit of success starts behaving as if they belong to an altogether different planet. But soon these people are brought to earth after facing a failure in future. Friend nothing in this world is eternal. So, one s’d keep his feet on the ground and respect others. If you don’t believe me then follow the example of Late Rajesh Khanna and Mr. Amitabh Bacchan.

The 50th Law - Jamie Dunn

I read a great book recently and it really got me thinking. How much does Fear
control our lives?
The 50th Law is the story about the success of the rapper turned entrepreneur,
turned investor, turned Philanthropist, 50 Cent. Robert Greene spent time
shadowing 50 cent in his career and then co-authored this book on the back of
it. 50 cent talks of the law he feels ultimately made him successful, the law he
speaks of is “fear.” If you don’t know much of 50 Cent’s story, he was once shot
9 times and recalls this as the incident that gave him the mindset to succeed. He
sums up that moment like this, “After I got shot nine times at close range and
didn't die, I started to think that I must have a purpose in life. How much more
damage could that shell have done?”
His law is about how fear holds people back from going after their dreams and he
talks practically of how to beat that sense of fear out of your life and achieve real
freedom in your being.
The word “Fear” really stands for “False Expectations Appearing Real.” All of the
things you THINK could go wrong, not what actually will go wrong. Imagine what
you could do if you suddenly had nothing holding you back and no fear of thing’s
going wrong.

Hard work beats Talent - Jamie Dunn

Talented people finish last.

I think Kevin Durant of the NBA said it best, “Hard work beats talent, when talent
doesn’t work hard.”
There is a fine line between being talented and being hard working. One can’t
exist without the other and success can’t be had if they are both not in motion.
How many times have we watched The X Factor and seen great talent on
the show but not seen or heard of them a few years later… Steve Brookstein
anybody?
Anyway, my point is that you can have a natural talent for something but it is
wasted if you don’t exercise, develop and nurture it. I think shows like the X
Factor paint a false picture of success. The success on the show is fast-tracked
and within 4 months the winner is catapulted into stardom, but the question is,
for how long? Granted, there have been great successes from the show that have
sustained and made good records, but only because they made their talent work
for them instead of simply relying upon it.
I think it’s truly important to look beyond the successes and instead focus and
tell the story of the late nights, the failures, the rejections, the early mornings and
the journey that leads to the end product. This will break down the story into
something tangible for people to actually think, right, I’m prepared to do what it
takes to get what it is that I want instead of becoming disillusioned and give up
after a few months of trying because it has happened for them yet.
Celebrities are out of reach and seem unrealistic to young people within our
community. Aspiration raising is key, but setting the bar too high and making it
look easy is damaging our generation into thinking success is easy.

We work for the whole-whole night to earn money but it makes you sad when you look at those who have money but not happiness. For those journey is not over here, people are fighting for success in office, in business and everywhere. Few people treat them as a successful person, few treat them passionate people but what the reality is? Does money define success?

Life will never come back then why regret? Who knows, what will happen tomorrow then why wrinkles on your face? If you want to fall in love, don't wait. If you want to be a symbol for society, for country, for world just wake up. If you want to say, something don't let your tongue stop. We all have dreams; we all have friends, parents and love. They all love you so much. They all want to see you happy; they all want to see you as a successful person but with a smile. Working 24*7 in an office is not required to be happy successful person but to be happy from your heart gives you the real success. Many times, we hurt people and get success but wining heart is actually a big thing in life, to make someone smiles, makes you the real successful person. So just, love them who love you and just make them smile who look at you. Life is so beautiful if you love it. Just appreciate yourself and your birth.

This tells us that leadership is not just about being liked , it is also about doing what is right. When you lead from a position of truth , justice,fairness and excellence you will have critics.But great leaders are those who build monuments from the stones thrown at them. The great leaders were the ones who were never satisfied with the way things were.Think about Nelson Mandela, Mahatma Gandhi, Bill Gates these are the people who wanted to change things around them .They learned how to convert the negative into the positive and learned how to see the brighter side of life. Relentless hard work and sincerity is needed for a person to become a leader and achieve greatness in life .Leaders need to inspire and motivate others for the betterment of the world and for themselves.Leaders need to take risks and think of what other cannot think of and what others have never dreamt of.The real risk lies in risk less living , therefore leaders should not be afraid of taking risks and should go all out on their mission to achieve what they dreamt of achieving.

So in order to become a great leader in life the most important thing is to have passion for what you love to do and the ability to inspire people and understand them and their needs and I am sure one day you will reach to the top of the world where your greatness really lies.

Amazing In Our Eyes

It's not the medals that count, it's the personal victory of having surpassed that goal you set for yourselves. Despite having no legs , he did not sit back and cry . He did not give up and let  his passion die . But made the right effort to dream and act and God saw the undying spirit. The fire in his belly and lifted him up to glory. God sees the intention and not the ability. For if he only thought of his disability and handicap, Oscar wouldn't have  crossed the barrier that society has placed before such disabled folks.We must master the art of the possible and God will lift us up to the impossible .
Oscar Pistorious competed with able bodied people and made history by reaching the semifinals of the 400mts. What an inspiration ! 
Destiny is not a point to be reached but a road to be taken . We have to learn to perfect  the ride and make it as enjoyable as possible. That way we become masters of our destiny.The journey has it's ups and downs. Whatever be your situation one can look beyond the circumstances and take that step of faith to bite a little more than you can chew. You will be surprised at your own ability . Learn to seize the day by having a positive expectancy. It's in the dark that you can see the stars. But how many of us have learned to look up , rather we are buried in our troubles . We don't have to do great like Oscar Pistorious but can do the little things in a better way. So that when taken together , the sum is more than the parts.

Double-amputee Oscar Pistorius makes history on the Olympic track 

London— After South African Oscar Pistorius made history Saturday by becoming the first double-amputee to
compete in the able-bodied Olympics, fellow 400-meter runner Bryshon Nellum recalled what it was like being in a
wheelchair after he was shot in both legs in a drive-by shooting when he was 19, his career in jeopardy.

Nellum said he could relate to Pistorius, if only a little.

"It's amazing what he's doing," said Nellum, who is from Los Angeles. "He motivates all of us. If something like that
happens to you, you lose both your legs, it's like, wow. Some people would give up. For him to continue to run with
people with legs, it's unbelievable. It's amazing."

Running on two high-performance carbon-fiber prosthetics, Pistorius finished second in his heat — 16th overall out of
47 runners — and qualified for Sunday's semifinals accompanied by the roar of 80,000 spectators. Half an hour later,
he was still feeling goose bumps.

"I didn't know whether to cry," Pistorius said. "I had a mixture of emotions. It was the most amazing experience, the
crowd was amazing."

Pistorius was born without a fibula in either leg, so they were amputated below the knees under the advice of doctors
when he was 11 months old.

"I've worked for six years to try to make the 400 (qualifying) standard, and to come out here today is just an
unbelievable experience," Pistorius said. "I found myself smiling in the starting blocks, which is very rare in the 400
meters. As I came out of the tunnel, I saw my friends and family, my grandmother — she's 89 — she was there with
the South African flag. It was just an amazing experience."

Track and field's ruling body, the International Association of Athletics Federations, banned Pistorius from competing
in able-bodied meets in 2008, taking the position that his prostheses gave him an unfair advantage. The Court of
Arbitration for Sport reversed the decision, but he failed to make the Beijing Olympics because he had not achieved
the Olympic time standard (45.3 seconds) in the event.

Pistorius achieved the standard last March, and Saturday he achieved his dream.

"It's very difficult to separate the occasion from the race," Pistorius said. "You get so much energy from the crowd.
You've heard a lot of athletes saying the track's quick, and I believe the track is fast. But the crowd is what is making
it that much more enjoyable."

Pistorius said he was very nervous before the race because so much responsibility came with the opportunity. While
some debate whether he has an unfair advantage, he wanted to prove he belonged. He finished the race in 45.44
seconds, his second-fastest time of the year.

"Just being here is a tremendous experience," Pistorius said. "You draw a lot from the crowd and the occasion. It's
one thing being here, and it's another thing performing. That is a task I take seriously. I want to represent my country
well. My goal was to make the semifinal, and that was going to be a tough goal for me. I had to run a very hard race
to make the semifinal today."

Others in the race were reluctant to address the issue of competitive advantage. They saw an inspirational moment
for what it was, and celebrated Pistorius for it.

"He created history," said Kirani James of Grenada, who had the ninth- fastest time of the day, 0.21 of a second
faster than Pistorius. "I have a lot of respect for the guy, he's a very great person, most importantly. If he wants to
compete with us, he's just another competitor out there that just has a lot of love for track and field. He adds some
elements to our sport which will generate a lot of interest in our sports."

Even as he felt lingering goose bumps, Pistorius conceded it's unlikely he will qualify for Monday's finals, but he was
OK with that. He achieved his goal.

"I couldn't have hoped for anything better," Pistorius said. "My goal was always to make the semifinal. I've been able
to do so, and good luck to my competitors. I'm looking forward to coming back here and seeing you all here again."
