Ave Tablet, a trendy multi-purpose cyber gadget developed by Hyderabadi boys Sareddy Chiman Prakash and Nikhil was launched amid much fanfare last week. This was done with the help of the Andhra Pradesh information technology and communications minister, Ponnala Lakshmaiah.
The device will be of immense help to underprivileged people and to get it across to the target users P. Lakshmaiah is chalking a viable plan with Kapil Sibal. The tablet is priced at `12,999. One of the founder, of the tablet, Chiman Prakash, is just 16-year-old, but his love for technology and innovation is very rare for someone his age. From Class VIII he has been building websites. He now builds PC games and mobile applications as well.
Recently, he also launched India’s first FPS (First Person Shooter) game, called I Am VEN. The game is based on the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. “There is a common unfair notion that games developed in India aren’t good enough and I wish to change that,” he declares. He is presently working on an advanced action and motion sensor PC game.
While none can deny that Chiman Prakash is a prodigy, it is established by the fact that he has been playing chess under the professional training of his mother since he was four years old. He practices chess for more that 10 hours a day and is presently ranked fourth in the Commonwealth and 6th in Asia. He hasn’t attended school or college, but is home tutored by his mother, S. Padmaja Reddy. Unlike others his age, his friends on Facebook are not his classmates but business associates and people he meets on trips, mostly during chess tournaments.
While he enjoys reading comics and watching cartoons in his spare time, his inspiration he says is his mom. “She is very hard working. Not only will she train with me for 10 hours, she even sits an extra five hours planning for my next day’s schedule,” he says.
