India Hammered Pakistan - ICC World T20

Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuvraj Singh set it up with a superb display of spin bowling before Virat Kohli took centrestage with an unbeaten 78 as an inspired India thrashed arch-rivals Pakistan by eight wickets to keep their title hopes alive in the ICC World Twenty20 on Sunday.

Ashwin (2/16) and Yuvraj (2/16) snapped up four wickets between themselves as Pakistan were shot out for a meagre 128 in 19.4 overs. Lakshmipathy Balaji also complemented the ?spin twins? with impressive figures of 3/22 in 3.4 overs.

Kohli, who has been Pakistan's nemesis in the past, hit a scintillating unbeaten 78 off 61 balls as India won with three overs to spare. The Delhi lad hit nine boundaries and two sixes to take the team home in the high-voltage contest watched by a capacity crowd.

However, Pakistan are still ahead in terms of net run rate of -0.426 which is shade better than India's -0.452. Had India won with 20 balls to spare, they would have been No 2 in the group.

India will now have to defeat South Africa in their last group-2 match on Tuesday to make it to the semi-finals.

India's unbeaten record against Pakistan in ICC World Cups has thus been kept intact having beaten them five times in the 50-over version and thrice in the T20 format.

Kohli started with a thickish outside edge off Raza Hasan for a boundary but then played some lovely strokes. A backfoot cover drive off Saeed Ajmal and lovely cover drive off Yaser Arafat were glorious strokes.

He also lofted Shahid Afridi over long-off for a six.

Whether driving on the up or playing off his hips, Kohli was a treat to watch.

Virender Sehwag. on the other hand, was happy to play the second fiddle during the 74-run partnership for the second wicket but did play a lovely lofted shot off Umar Gul?s bowling. More PTI KHS MRM

Pakistan captain Mohammed Hafeez's decision to bat first on a slow Premadasa track failed to produce the desired result as Ashwin and Yuvraj frustrated the opposition batsmen by maintaining superb line and length.

Ashwin, who operated from round the wicket, had superb figures of two for 16 from four overs while Yuvraj also had identical figures but from three overs.

The duo snapped four Pakistan wickets for only 32 runs in seven overs and it was the reason why Hafeez and Co could not reach a respectable total. Lakshmipathy Balaji also complemented the ?spin twins? with impressive figures of 3/22 in 3.4 overs.

The only notable partnership was of 47 runs between Shoaib Malik and Umar Akmal. Malik was the top scorer with 28 before he gave an easy catch to Rohit Sharma. Last match?s hero Umar Akmal played a pull shot off an Ashwin delivery but couldn?t clear Suresh Raina in the deep.

India versus Pakistan matches are never short of drama and this match was also not an exception. Zaheer Khan?s first over saw him bowl three wide deliveries and then being square driven by Imran Nazir for a boundary before Virender Sehwag dropped the opener at first slip.

Irfan Pathan started off the collapse by removing Nazir who had shuffled a long way but the umpire thought that left-arm seamer?s incoming delivery would have hit the stumps.

Nazir stood his ground for a while before leaving.

To everyone's disbelief, Shahid Afridi walked in at No 3 and smashed the first delivery from Pathan over his head and then another boundary off the bowler through the cover region.

However, with the former Pakistan captain, opposition teams always fancy a chance and Balaji bowled a short one which Afridi tried to pull it over mid-wicket boundary but was caught by Suresh Raina at the boundary ropes. Afridi made only 14.

Yuvraj then got into the act as he removed left-hander Nasir Jamshed and wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal in quick succession to reduce Pakistan to 49 for four. Both hurried onto their shots.

Jamshed tried to play a slog-sweep which was smartly taken by Dhoni while Kamran tried an expansive cover drive of an arm ball only to give the Indian captain his second catch.

Pakistan captain Hafeez scratched around for 28 balls for his 15 before he dragged one onto his stumps off part-timer Virat Kohli?s bowling.

Umar and Malik then got together to conjure a partnership but Ashwin dismissed both of them in quick succession to end Pakistan?s chances of a big score. (PTI)

Brief Score Pakistan 128 all-out in 19.4 overs (Shoaib Malik 28, Umar Akmal 21; Ravichandran Ashwin 2 for 16, Yuvraj Singh 2 for 16) lost to India 129 for 2 in 17 overs (Virat Kohli 78*, Virender Sehwag 29, Yuvraj Singh 19*; Raza Hasan 1 for 22) by 8 wickets.

Man of the Match: Virat Kohli

Burning Question - Nikhil Chandwani

"Recently, large demonstrations have taken place across Maharashtra protesting the fact that certain political parties, to get majority votes, is finally addressing the issue of  immigration from the North. Certain people are angry that Maharashtra might actually want to protect its own land, might make it harder to sneak into this state and, once here, make it harder (as an  immigrant) to stay indefinitely.

Let me see if I correctly understand the story behind these protests. Let's say I break into your home. Then, when you discover me in your house and you demand that I leave. But I say, 'I've made all the beds and washed the dishes and done the laundry and swept the floors; I've done all the hard work you don't like to do. I'm working for your happiness with truth (except for when I broke into your house).

According to the protesters, not only must you let me stay, you must add me to your family's insurance plan, educate my children, and provide other benefits to me and to my family (my husband will do your yard work because he too wants to work to keep you happy with truth, except for that breaking-in part).

If you try to call the political majorities to force me out, I will call my family and friends who will picket your house carrying signs that proclaim my wrong right to be there.

It's only right, after all, because you have an improved home than I do, and I'm just trying to better myself. I'm working to keep you happy and true, um, except for well, you know. And what a deal it is for me!!

I live in your house, contributing only a fraction of the cost of my keep, and there is nothing yo! u can do about it without being accused of selfishness, prejudice and being an anti-housebreaker. Oh yes, and I want you to digest my language, although you already understand, so you can communicate with me. Marathi is too hard for me to learn. You should also allow me to vote - in my own language, since I live in your house."

Why can't the world see how painful this is? Happens only in India.

Clash of the Titans: Record favours India, form favours Pakistan

It is a high-voltage encounter – one whose intensity and fervour transcends the boundaries of the cricket field. The rivalry between India and Pakistan has its deep roots in history, and things reach a fever pitch when the two sides face each other. If the pressure of playing each other in a simple game is immense, it just magnifies in a World Cup. It is a game both sides desperately want to win, irrespective of their standing in the tournament as it is a matter of prestige. The ICC World T20 2012 is poised to host the two arch-rivals and witness an encounter that is potentially breathtaking - one which would bring the two countries to a standstill.

India’s record against Pakistan in World Cups – both the 50-over and the World T20 - is fantastic; they have never lost a game! Prior to the ICC World T20 2009, the two sides played each other in a warm-up game – which was also won by India. However, Pakistan got one back before the start of the current edition – albeit in a similar practice affair. Players from both sides would vouch for the fact that no contest between the two sides is any less significant. Thus, India’s defeat in that game may be a bit of a psychological dent ahead of the crucial Super-Eights match.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni number of questions before him as his team has been erratic in the tournament so far. The win against England raised the expectations of the fans and some stated that India had the goods to go all the way. However, it was almost as if they had ignored the fact that the English batsmen were inept at playing spin – something that was the biggest factor in India’s comprehensive victory. The crushing defeat to Australia took India to the opposite end of the spectrum as the same bowlers were carted around the park with ease.

It is imperative that Dhoni gets the balance of his side right as there were a number of loopholes in the last game. Irfan Pathan shouldn’t open the batting, irrespective whether Virender Sehwag is brought back or not. However, the return of Sehwag may help as he has done well against Pakistan on many occasions in the past. In such high-pressure games, his uncomplicated thinking allows him to absorb the pressure at the top and take India off to flyers. A quick-fire 20-odd off his bat may be enough to lift the spirits and set the ball rolling.

The five-bowler strategy was labelled as the ultimate saviour and something that would change India’s fortunes. It did work wonders against England, but went awry in the game against Australia. Perhaps, Dhoni erred by over-emphasising on spin. Playing three specialist spinners was always going to be a gamble and he must avoid it this time. The Pakistan batsmen are fantastic players of spin and wouldn’t have too many problems playing them. India had used five-specialist bowlers in the warm-up against Pakistan and it clearly didn’t work. Thus, they must clearly chalk out the options they want to use.

Pakistan have been a fantastic side in T20 internationals and the pressure is clearly on India given the complete picture. However, the whole notion of playing Pakistan may boost India’s morale and pep them up for the contest. It may be a required push to lift their performances and beat their neighbours. At the Asia Cup earlier this year, India comfortably chased a huge total against Pakistan at the back of Virat Kohli’s stupendous century. That win had come in the aftermath of the shocking defeat to Bangladesh. It would be a mistake to write India off, but Pakistan clearly have the advantage on many fronts.

Is the Pakistan warm-up victory a ripple that changes the tide or would India rise to the occasion and manage to defend their unbeaten record?

The Krishna Key by Ashwin Sanghi

Do you know what is Lord Krishna’s best kept secret? Well, there are 4 seals which once put together will point you towards that secret. Professor Varshney is one of the few who knows about
this secret and he has a safety net. He had sent the clues to the secret to four of his most trusted friends. When he is murdered, the safety of this secret lies in the hands of those four people, but
even they are turning up dead.

When bodies start dropping around him, Professor Saini is one of the main suspects, while little do authorities realize that Professor Saini is one of the targets too. In order to save himself from the
actual murderer and the police, he has no other choice than to solve the puzzle. The only people he can rely on are a doctoral student and a criminal lawyer. The chase and the hunt begin as Professor Saini tries to bring together all the four parts and put together the Krishna key.

Does the plot sound familiar to you? Yes, the plot is similar to that of Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown and Professor Saini’s character similar to Robert Langdon. Since I have also watched the movie – Tom Hanks kept popping up in my mind while reading this book. If I had not known about Da Vinci Code, I would probably be going all gaga over this book. But the fact remains that I do know and so this book feels like nothing but an Indian adaption of the original. Even if I look at it that way, there’s still a problem with it since it is very clear that the author has written the book in a way so as to cater to the International market. Some of the common terms in India have been replaced by the common American terms for the same thing. I mean really? It’s like getting a plate of authentic Chinese Fried Rice, adding a bit of ghee and black pepper; stir frying it and then selling it back to the Chinese under the name of ‘Pulayo’. Granted that the author has tried to take a different approach, but with the similar outline and protagonist, it is difficult to be different.

However, I have to acknowledge the hard work that the Author must have put into the book.
From Mahabharata to the Vedas to the different Indian civilizations, he has thoroughly researched everything. I had no idea about a lot of things that were mentioned in the book and I was intrigued enough to actually look them up. Also, to actually build that information up and providing them in a package of thriller must have been difficult. Ashwin Sanghi command over the language is extremely good. With a few exceptions of very clichéd dialogues and intentional use of American terms, his language is definitely a plus point of the book.

So overall, I would say that this book excels in aspects of research that has gone into it and also its presentation. It would serve as a good and healthy dose of Indian history, but end of the day, it still reminds me too much of Da Vinci Code and since that was published first; the credit of originality definitely goes to Dan Brown.

Would I recommend this book to anyone? Perhaps I would recommend this book those who are more interested in reading about Indian mythology & history and also to those who haven’t read Dan Brown.

An Interivew With The Author of Journey of Two Hearts - Anuj Tiwari

Firstly, I would like to begin with the most basic question, how did your journey
with the pen begin?

I always wanted to do something different from crowd but how and what to do, a big
question. When I was a kid, I used to say my parents, I want to do something different
and every time my mom slapped me and then again, I was back to my studies. But
that spark was still there. When I left home for my engineering then I had enough time
to think about my future and my life, years passed but I had the same thought to do
something different but how and what to do, still a big question. Then that spark was
about to collapse and I started dreaming a good job and salary after my engineering.
During my college days, I fell in love with Pakhi. Life started moving very fast. I never
thought to be an author; I just started writing for her with one wish that I will gift my
diary to her when we’ll get married. But as life has two sides, good and bad, so I was not
untouched with this reality. Then my wish to gift this book fulfilled but in the hospital
when I went through depression for few months. People used to say many things that I
am mad, insane and crazy. But I knew that what I had to do. I stopped talking to anybody
and concentrated to finish my book not because to be an author but to get her back in my
life.
I knew one thing very well, ‘After crossing the ocean of tears, I will definitely find the
way of happiness.’

When did you first consider yourself a writer, far from a blogger?
A big question for me, it seems very awkward when an author says, “I haven’t read even
a single book in my life except school and college books.” But it’s true, I have so many
books in my bookrack and few I started reading but it’s a human tendency to adopt the
things and somewhere I felt the same so decided to learn from life only.
There are two types of writers in our literary world, first who write and then become an
author and second who become an author first and then write. I was out from both of
them, I wrote my for Pakhi and then for my readers and then my readers decided that I
am an author. There is a beautiful relation between an authors and readers; I just love
that relation. I have seen when I was not an author; when people reach at great heights
then they forget those who were their readers someday. But I love to talk to my readers,
doesn’t matter how small or big they are. And might be this is the thing they call me an
author but for they all are my existence. If I am here they there are the reason.

What inspired you to write your first book?
Pakhi is the motivation behind my writing.

What books have highly influenced your life?
As I said, I haven’t read even a single book in my life. My reading is not good. I sleep
when I read the books, so it’s better to accept the truth not to pretend that I am not a good
reader. Only few things, which inspired me are- My life, my parents and those who kicked in my bad phase of life. Whatever I am today just because of them.

If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?
There is always some talent in everybody but we do not accept it. We think about the
dark side before going a step ahead. Success is always at 100th step and we accept the
defeat at 99th. As such, there is specific person whoever teach me anything is my teacher
doesn’t matter he/she is younger than me or older than me and that’s the beauty of
learning of life and mantras of success. If I have few names who put courage in my life-
Robin Sharma, J.R.R Tolkein, Nick Vujicic etc.

Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?
I shall not write any name here, there are very few who actually are on the right way.
Writing is not tough when you listen to your heart. A person kicks a stone and goes
ahead that time an author take it, feel that pain and write a whole book. Our life, success,
happiness, these are all about how you take and how you make it.

If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in you latest book?
I listen to my heart and it keeps me on the right track. So there is nothing to change in the
book. I couldn’t change the reality in the book because that was not in my hand.

Can you share a little of your current work with us?
If my wishes come true then might be I won’t write and will continue my speech and
conferences, if my soul’s advice or my heart says to write more for sure I will but right
now I am not working on any script. There are few things, which I am writing but that is
related to my youth friends.

Do you have to travel much concerning your books?
I travel for speeches and meets so book goes with that. Few days back I visited Kolkata
for a youth conference. Soon I am planning for Lucknow/Delhi/Bareilly visit.

What was the hardest part of writing your book?
Sometimes when I tried to write a book, I couldn’t but when I followed my heart it was
easy to write. There are many things in the book which are not supposed to write in the
true story but I did and that was the toughest part to avoid those things.

Do you have any advice for other writers?
Others are far better than me, I am not anyone to give advice. So just work hard because
one day we have all have to sleep, so do something till the day you breathe.
Spread love, else nothing in life.

Finally, Do you have anything specific that you want to say to our readers
(The TeenMag)?

At all, I have nothing to say, I am not any celebrity or great person. I just want to say
to all my readers that I just shared my story with you, I don’t know what readers like or
don’t like. I just followed my soul’s & heart’s advice and wrote on the paper. Being in
depression for six months and completing the book was not easy and I was lost in some
other world. So now it’s up to you how you take the book but I get hundreds of mails
from teens, saying how much they love my book, and I am really surprised about it.
Enjoy reading. Love you all.

A Second Thought On Love - Sudeep Nagarkar

Have you ever wondered why your relationship is so painful? Things were so perfect
when you first met - what happened?
When you have just met your love, everything seems wonderful. You can't get enough
of each other. Neither of you can do any wrong in the eyes of the other. You can’t stay
for a second without holding each other’s hand. For that case even kissing and exploring
each other’s bodies. This is because you both are still on your best behaviour and you try
to please each other to extreme level. What makes this experience of love so interesting
is that you seem to have no control at all over it. It feels your life is complete with your
prince or angel.

Gradually you realize that he/she is a human being and not a prince or an angel from
different world. Now you start recognizing the flaws and shortcomings of him/her. Your
partner's little habits aren't quite as cute as they used to be earlier. Love by itself doesn’t
create all that pain you feel, it’s all the outside factors that would slowly accumulate over
a few days and make you feel miserable. Instead of getting hyper at this stage, you should
learn how to resolve conflicts and understand each other as much as you wanted to kiss
each other or explore each other in the early stage. Else, you will start feeling lonely and
that will apply sudden breaks to your relationship.

If you sustain through this phase without understanding each other then gradually, you
will feel why you are into this relationship. You will fight to draw boundaries in the
relationship, and as a result, even small annoyances become big issues. This is where
most couples have occasional or frequent thoughts of leaving the relationship. More
and more often, you start to feel like he/she is self-centered or un-caring, or even worse.
These thoughts give rise to insecurity. One day we feel we’re in love, and the next,
we’re asking ourselves if we’re still in love. An insecure relationship makes you believe
you’re in love and yet, you feel like you've broken up already. This is the time where you
need to open up with your partner in terms of your emotions and needs. Don’t be shy
in expressing about different innovative positions on bed. It can ease your stress and a
simple smile after making out can bring the passion back in your relation.

If you ignore, you will feel extremely lonely and now you will feel that you have almost
lost your partner. Jealousy takes over your mind. You may not like the fact that he/
she is hanging out with someone else and having a lot of fun, or you may just feel
insecure about losing him/her to someone else. This makes you aggressive and obsessed.
However, this will put an end to your relation. Instead, you should understand jealousy is
an expression of love and not a sign of possessiveness.

If you have managed your relation with him/her till this level, then obviously its time for
a strong commitment towards each other. You are no longer with your partner because
you need them, but because you've chosen them. You have found your true love. It’s time
for a deep passionate kiss and to enjoy the tender love forever in your life.

Entrepreneurship - Pavneet Sareen

In simple words, an entrepreneur is a person who owns a business enterprise or an idea for a business venture. An entrepreneur is the person who undertakes risk to start a business. He/she either faces the brunt of losses or enjoys the profits. Every decision of the business is taken by the entrepreneur. Between the capital and the labor, the entrepreneur plays the middleman. Each entrepreneur has a respective grade of taking risks to strike an opportunity.
Some of the most general characteristics of entrepreneur are :

. Spontaneity on decisions
. Adequate knowledge of the market
. Reach on resources
. Ability to use resources
. Adherence to society norms
. Intelligence
. Profit distribution
. Risk Estimation
. Leadership Qualities

"WITHOUT A PROBLEM , THERE IS NO SOLUTION "
Being an entrepreneur beats working the 9-5, you don’t have to sit in one office trying to please another man and you are not restricted to one location, you can work where you want. You also have your freedom of speech and you can say whatever comes to your mouth. In fact, as an entrepreneur you can go on doing crazy things.
"WHY SHOULD YOU BE AN ENTREPRENEUR?"
Being an entrepreneur can be one of the best decisions you will ever take in life but you don’t just jump into things without knowing why, this post will be listing 10 reasons why you should be an entrepreneur.

1. Be Your Own Boss.

Nothing can be more frustrating than taking orders from the same person all the time. Even if taking orders is okay, what happens if your life depends on taking orders? Failure to obey your boss can kick you out of your job.

Being an entrepreneur puts and end to this and you don’t have to answer or take orders from any boss anymore, you live your life as it pleases you, you do things as you want.

2. Work at Your Own Schedule.

Depending on how and where your business operates, you can even work at night and sleep at day as an entrepreneur, you can decide to live a different way of life – and this is what a 9-5 job will never provide.

3. No Limit to Your Progress.

As far as working under someone is concerned, there is a limit to what you can be. You can never exceed your boss. Being an entrepreneur helps you overcome this limitation and whether you want to be a CEO or a sales representative, it is yours to decide.

4. Determine Your Location.

Have you ever thought about working where you want? This might still be strange to you if you work a 9-5 job but one great advantage of being an entrepreneur is that you are able to determine your location. As an entrepreneur you can determine if you want to work in Africa or America but when working 9-5 you have no choice than to work in the constraint of your office.

5. Vacate When You Want.

Being an entrepreneur also affords you the ability to vacate when you want which a 9-5 job can’t afford. You can easily decide if you want to be at home every Thursday and Friday of the week but a 9-5 job will never afford you that.

6. Determine Whom You Work With.

As an entrepreneur your business is yours and you can determine if you want to work with friends and relatives or any other person, this a 9-5 job can never afford. If you are working a 9-5 job, it doesn’t matter if your greatest enemy is your colleague, you just have to work together.

7. Unlimited Earnings Potential.

There is a limit to what you can earn while working your 9-5 job, it doesn’t matter if your company doubled its income that month you will still be paid the same amount you are supposed to be paid but as an entrepreneur, since you own your business there is no limit to what you can earn, all you need to do is be very creative and look for various ways to improve your income.

8. Freedom of Speech.

If I ask you if you have freedom of speech I am sure you will come up with a resounding YES! If you are working a 9-5 job I can assure you this is not true, you have no freedom of speech!

When working a 9-5 job you can’t just talk to your boss anyhow because talking to your boss anyhow can lead to you being fired (Go call your boss a jerk if you don’t believe this!) but as an entrepreneur it doesn’t matter if you are talking to the CEO of one big company or a 12-year-old boy you still have right to the same words, you are simply not afraid of anybody.

9. Automate Your Income.

Another great advantage of being an entrepreneur is the ability to automate your income. You can easily employ people to help you manage your business while you tour the world but this isn’t possible in your usual 9-5 job, trying to do is you signing your sack letter.

Also, as an entrepreneur your income is not affected by how you work, you can determine if you want to be paid whether you work or not, you can also determine of you want to create your automatic income machine but this is not possible in your regular day job, you have to follow the working guidelines put together by your boss, failure to do this might result in something else.

10. Passive Income and knowledge Stream.

You can decide to spread yourself into as many businesses as you want when working as an entrepreneur but your 9-5 job won’t allow this, you have to be in the office every time, and not only in the office but also doing the things of the office.

One great advantage entrepreneurs have is that they can create passive income streams and also improve their knowledge in so many ways. You can decide to have a big company under your belt while at the same time doing some other business, you are not restricted by anything.

'My Book Will Tell The Truth'  says former ISRO scientist  Nambi  Narayanan , who was accused and  arrested of being a spy in the cryogenic engine research scandal that rocked kerala in 1994. He  was acquitted by the Supreme Court in 1998 but since lived under a cloud, being a spy. Mr Nambi Narayanan wishes to expose the people who framed him and redeem his good name, but can he get back those years that passed by . Now on the wrong side of 70, he says ' I shall not die a spy' . That much for self respect and guts. Narayanan is but one of the few who've the courage to fight against the establishment . How many are languishing outside under fear and a weak order of redressal.

When the country is today marching forward in economic growth , let us
not close our eyes on the citezen's rights to living in freedom & upholding of dignity . The quality of life  of a country which is not measured on just economic prosperity but on the social and cultural
parametetrs should not be sidelined . Do we have the right to  freedom of thought without the  fear of being victimised, equal rights to education & employment or in invoking the constitution against corruption .  There's little meaning in prosperity when money does not ensure peace and security .  How long  will you  be living in the security and comfort of a house  surrounded by poor and oulawed citizens on the streets. This is the case in many countries of Africa & the Third World. Is there real freedom ?

Falling in love…. Or staying in love!! - Sudeep Nagarkar

Confused! Hardly few have heard of it and rarely anyone practice it. Staying in love or
falling in love? When you will understand the difference, you will never feel low.

Have you ever fallen in love in a train or a bus? You see a gorgeous girl while traveling
and you feel she is your soul mate. How many times have you followed her path or
thought of her on the same night before sleeping? It had happened with me too when
I followed a girl for almost an hour to lose her midway. While following her I lived
so many dreams with her. Her touch, her walk, her moves and so on…. However, she
disappears. At first, this will makes you feel empty and you’ll try to convince yourself
that you could’ve loved this person for longer than a night but you can’t. Some people
are just meant to make cameo appearances. Not every attraction is love. How many times
in those teen years, we have misguided ourselves thinking ‘I am in love’. Not every
person we like or love has to stick around. Sometimes it’s better to leave before you get
involved.

We never thought on the fact when we were born it took us some days to realize that the
woman who holds us often in her arms is our mother. So how can we fall in love with just
one look of him or her? Every relation strengthens with time. It’s an art.

Falling in love is a piece of cake. Then why is it that so few seem to stay in love? Falling
in love can be the start of a loving relationship, but lasting relationships don't just happen;
they grow. In many ways, nurturing a relationship is like tending a garden. Neglect it and
it dies. Understanding who actually your soul mate is, itself is a challenge. Most of us
fall in wrong relationships. Spending some time with your other half is the only solution.
You can’t act mature in your teen. Neither your other half is expecting you to be matured.
She expects your time. Your presence. Presence is not only spending physical time with
another person but also giving him or her, your undivided attention when you are with
him or her. It includes being sensitive to his/her feelings and aware of his/her needs. It
means not only hearing with your ears but, much more so, hearing with your heart.

Is one of your children a favorite?" I asked the father. With a tinge of embarrassment,
he admitted the "good" child was. This is the obvious cause of your son’s negative
behaviour. If we can see this and take the time to understand the real cause behind
their behavior instead of taking it personally and yelling back, we can go a long way in
strengthening our love relationships.

If we desire to stay in love, it is imperative that each of us accepts the responsibility for
resolving our inner conflicts that cause dissension in our present relationships. Love is
much more than a physical relationship. It is also an emotional relationship. The man
who ignores the emotional needs of his girlfriend and expects to receive a warm response
in bed is inviting frustration. Girls are not machines to be turned on at will. Sex starts
in the kitchen at six, not in the bedroom at nine. When we guys practice this we will
never create any complex situation in our relationship and land up cursing our girl. No
human is perfect. Similarly, true love is a commitment of one imperfect person to another
imperfect person. Treat your relation like a wine. Let it grow old and then the world will
admire it.

I leave it to you. Decide you want to fall in love or stay in love… Though she is not with
me, I am still in love with her. Unconditional love!

Overdose of fashion weeks hampering industry: Wendell

Too many fashion weeks all year around not only localise the industry but also dilute its long celebrated essence as well as negatively impact business, says fashion designer Wendell Rodricks who has unveiled secrets of the glamorous industry in his newly released autobiography.

"With so many fashion weeks being held every now and then the whole concept of 'green room' is being diluted and the business is being affected," says Rodricks, a veteran of the Indian fashion industry.

"The Green Room" published by Rupa's Raintree Publications is Wendell's autobiographical account which he says is an entry into into his green room to which no outsider is allowed access.

From the time he used to work as a cook in Oman to the day he established his own label, the book is a telltale of how he transformed his passion into reality and how the industry has undergone a stage of metamorphosis in past 25 years.

"I have neither chronicled my story nor is it a retrospective of fashion shows over the years but a culmination of both. In a way its a story of my evolution and Indian fashion's evolution" Wendell told PTI in an interview.

However, the designer who hails from Goa believes he has become compassionate to past circumstances and penned down this book.

"The most challenging thing to do was to remember all what I have been through. Recalling all the highs and lows I have developed a new perspective towards those circumstance which I didn't have at the time of their occurrence," he says.

A green room, says Wendell Rodricks, is a very strange place to which only few people have access to though the activities and relationships there can not be defined in a set or predictable pattern. What happens in green room after all rarely stays there.

"Designers showing a collection at a particular time slot colonise the green room for 'their hour'. However close the friendship between them, the entry of others into the green room during 'their hour' is frowned upon" he writes.

The ace designer's dream is to have a green room that is plush and luxurious.

"Instead of cramped make up area, shoddy racks, dirty floors and black curtain walls, we will have flowers, champagne, white walls, space...." he says claiming that perhaps that dream will come true someday and perhaps it will change the very nature of the fashion industry.

Wendell who has earlier written a book on history of Goan costume 'Moda Goa', Wendell is presently working on a text book called ''Cutting in squares' which he says will decode and decipher the art of cutting clothes through guidelines of Indian geometry.

"It is time I believe we need to revamp and revise the current structure of fashion education in our country. There are so many fashion graduates every year and they end up being nowwhere".

Salman Khan finds new love?

Not a hottie that struts on two sexy limbs, but the one that goes vroom vroom on two hot wheels!
All those fans who miss the presence of a sexy lady (a girlfriend or wife) in Salman Khan’s life should know that the man has many passions, apart from family, friends and films, that keep his life hunky-dory.
We all know that the Dabangg dude has undying love for anything that moves on a pair of two fancy wheels, be it a bicycle or a motorbike. Remember how he often commutes to work on his bicycle and creates quite a furore on Mumbai’s streets?
So it turns out that the Tiger, who also owns a red Hayabusa bike, on his official Facebook page shared a photograph of the beauty that seems to be taking a lot of his love, care and attention. It’s a blue Suzuki Intruder motorbike! Do notice Sallu miyaan’s intensity as we see him checking out the curves of his hottie in the picture. Is this the handsome hunk’s newest possession? Sadly, we don’t know.
But we do know that this wheeled-beast comes at a staggering price of Rs 14 lakhs. Not too much for the man who paid the highest tax from B-town this year, na? Also it’s money well spent, ‘coz unlike his ex-lady loves, this one un-speakingly deals with the highs and lows of Sallu’s unpredictable moods!
By the way, we wonder what Bollywood’s biker brigade – John Abraham, Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Shahid Kapoor and Uday Chopra – has to say about Sallu’s new beauty!

Burning Reality

Few years back the whole universe was gaga over everything desi – anything from yoga to evergreen Bollywood was hot property. That India was virtually untouched by the erstwhile global meltdown, and had turned out to be the second fastest rising economy when most of the rich brats were striking the pit, had made people sit and notice. Fast-forward.
The Indian Rupee, which earned sufficient worth to have its own symbol a few years back, has become as insignificant in the global market, asManmohan Singh’s leadership. Yet again “Indian” has become an international slogan, and to tap anything in the country, you need to sign an at-your-own-risk tag. So, what was incorrect?
Well, actually nothing did. Things only took the predictable route. The country has been an observer to many of these expectant moments in history, and the resulting miscarriages that rupture the hopeful fizz of national hopes. Back in 1947, when the century old independence effort yielded the much-valued freedom, this immense moment was eclipsed by the almost instant bloodbaths, the country was drowned in, during separation. But there were influential leaders, adequate enough to visualize a new, a young, self-motivated homeland; there was hope. The country’s womb has only deteriorated since, and the politicians (‘leader’ does not describe a ‘politician’ in India.) of today have not only become impotent to carry about any changes, but have merely lost any goal to carry the nation on their shoulders. So failures and disappointments are the conclusion of the day. An unwilling womb can only conceive an injurious, frantic offspring. And that is what India has become, it has been pushed down one of those toxic black holes yawning across the country, and there is no way you can get it out alive.
India, at present, is the case study these days in world-wide financial forums, on what ‘not’ to do with a growing economy. The chance that we had as a rising nation, to develop, has been lost; thanks to those who control our prize strings. The consensus is that poor administration of financial resources has led to the downgrading of rupee. There have been no practical economic or communal reforms in the past decade, so the hard earned rupee of citizens who worked to place the country in a reputable situation, are just as fruitless as the money they have been earning in. And now with our precious Finance minister, who unquestionably deserves the recognition and accolades for playing his role so remarkably well (in screwing the economic conditions) prepared to don the Presidential cap, all can see where we are headed; or Is it too dark?

Entrepreneurship is about ideas: Lord Meghnad Desai

BITS, Pilani K. K. Birla - Goa Campus witnessed an interactive session with the world renowned economist, author and British Labor Life Peer- Lord Meghnad Desai.

His intense session turned out to be really superb. Let's have a look at Lord Meghnad Desai's interview conducted by the campus's very own Department of Journalism and Media Affairs!

This interview is a part of their latest BITS Herald Summer Issue which can be viewed at:
http://www.scribd.com/doc/96737622/BITS-Herald-Summer-Issue-12

Q: What was your inspiration and prime motive behind joining the Labour Party?

A: Well, I was always for the Left wing view and the socialist view of 'changing the world for the better'. I wanted to improve the living conditions of ordinary people and try and provide for employment, low poverty, better welfare state and such social and democratic ideals. Even though I am much more pro-capitalist now, I still think those are good things to go for. But, it has to be done differently.

Q: BITS-Pilani has a unique dual degree system, wherein students pursue a Pure Science degree along with an Engineering degree. From the point of view of an Economics scholar, how valued is the one year where the Economics dualities students study pure Economics subjects?

A: It's very difficult to answer that question. It depends on what the individual wants to do. Probably, one year in a joint degree system is enough to earn an Economics degree. But to know how academics judge it, we need to know what the individual plans to do. One year spent in Economics would not allow you to do a graduate course in Economics. Two years might be required. But, then again it depends on what you learn and how much you learn.

Q: We have a club called CEL, which stands for 'Centre for Entrepreneurial Leadership', which promotes Entrepreneurship. As of now, the world seems to be pro-social Entrepreneurship. Would you say it is a fad?

A: It will just come and go. Eventually, entrepreneurship is entrepreneurship and it means finding a gap in the market and filling it. Facebook is an entrepreneurial activity. Nobody knew there was a gap. But, it provided that gap. Entrepreneurship is about ideas. It is a mental activity with risk-taking. Paradoxically, although there is a lot more capitalism, people are shy to speak positively about it. They don't want to mention profit-making is a good thing. So they talk about social entrepreneurship.

Q: How do you feel that the research and academia scene in India has changed from your time?

A: There is much more research into academia now. But I feel far too much research is government-sponsored. There aren't enough private-research foundations or funding, that are enough to sustain really good critical work. I feel most of the research centres are concentrated in Delhi, due to this reason.

Superstitious BCCI set to recall Sreesanth for T20 World Cup

The superstitious Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recalls maverick pacer S Sreesanth for the T20 World Cup starting in Sri Lanka on Tuesday as the board feels the Kerala pacer’s lucky charm will help India in bringing back the cup.

Sreesanth is considered lucky for the team - despite taken to the cleaners by the opposition - as he figured in India’s successful World Cup campaigns in 2007 (T20) and 2011 (ODI).

Sreesanth played only two games in India’s successful World Cup campaign in 2011 – the first against Bangladesh and the final versus Sri Lanka. He leaked 53 runs in the first match in just five overs while his eight-over spell in the final cost India 52 runs. The fact that he went wicketless in both these games is also viewed as “good luck” by the BCCI.

Sadly, BCCI’s ploy to ask the Indian team play with the 2011 World Cup jersey in the warm-up game against Pakistan on Monday didn’t bring any luck. However, the news of Sreesanth’s return has already enlivened the Indian dressing room which looked gloomy after the loss.

Off-spinner Harbhajan Singh, who once famously slapped Sreesanth for his post-match antics in the Indian Premier League (IPL) is now ready to welcome the bowler with open arms.

“Sreesanth has been a lucky charm for the Indian team,” said Harbhajan.” Every time he plays for India and conceded lots of runs at crucial junctures, we somehow managed to win those matches. It’s imperative that he is in the team during the T20 World Cup in Sri Lanka.”

The pacer, who is yet to regain fitness, says he is honoured to represent the country again and give away loads of runs from one end if it means helping the team’s cause.

When asked about some of his memorable performances, the pacer recalled of his performance against arch-rivals Pakistan in the 2007 T20 World Cup final, where he gave away 44 runs in four overs.

BCCI’s brave act of bringing back Sreesanth for the T20 World Cup might just turn the tide in India’s favour. As they say, ‘Fortune favours the brave’!

NB: The above article is pure fiction.

His passion for writing inspired him to give up a sales and marketing job, which he does not regret. By writing on cricket, he wants to relive his dream of becoming a cricketer. A story of dreams, love and destiny, I live for you is a tender tale of Shria and Aaditya which will leave a mesmerizing impact on its readers. With breakups and divorces so rampant, I Live for you will surely make the readers think about their relationships again. It could work as a prescription for the broken hearts assures the author. I Live for you is a must read for all the people who believe in love and also who are living their lives for someone. A reader will not merely read it, he will live this book.

The name or the face of the person you love will automatically pop up in front of your eyes promises the author. Missing this book will not be a big issue obviously; however, you will miss the chance of falling in love again. Lets rekindle all those soft memories of the newly in love moments

Lets fall in love with I Live For You which is not just a love story, its the love of a story!!

All alone in this world of mine,
Not a care for the world have I...
Only you keep my eyes open wide,
Yes, it’s true…
I LIVE FOR YOU…

Can people already committed in a relationship fall in love again? Yes, it happened with Shria and Aaditya. They fall in love with each other when already committed with two different persons. As separation becomes unbearable, they decide to make confessions to everyone which results in a catastrophe. As the days pass, the torment soothes. From Aaditya and Shria they turn into  'Adishri’….two bodies yet one soul and their love climbs the ladder of maturity and faith. For the betterment of her career, Shria has to leave for France for a couple of months. Everything is picture perfect until Destiny plays a different plan. Will they survive this sudden change or get separated?
“I Live for You…” is a tender love story of Aaditya and Shria which was planned by Destiny, but goes through an unpredicted twist in the tale.

A chapter from the book:

That night Aaditya returned quite late at his home from the wedding. Shria was still awake. Aaditya’s uncle, aunt and few cousins had come at his place to stay as they stayed far from the wedding venue.
It was not possible for him to talk to Shria as his uncle slept in his room. He was annoyed but had no option with him. He messaged Shria.

‘Uncle is sleeping next to me...can we chat through sms?’

She replied-
‘Something is better than nothing...fine!’

Aaditya: Don’t get upset shona...anyways tell me...what were you doing?

Shria: Listening songs...lets play a game...I will send u a line of any song...you either send me the same songs next
line or some other song...what say?

Aaditya: I am going to lose this...anyways I will try. You can start.

Shria: “Tumhi Dekho na...Yeh kya ho gaya?”

Aaditya: “Tumhara hu main...aur tum meri!”J

Shria: Wow! Very good! See you are so good at it!

Aaditya: Thanks to you...I have to forcibly listen to all these songs...all my favourite English numbers are nowhere
in my playlist..

Shria: hehehehe...ok now shut up...here comes another one..
“Baat na kisise saaya bhi tera...kaajal jaha waha tera basera!”

Aaditya did not reply for the next 10 minutes. Shria was sure that he was going to listen to that song and then sms her.

Shria: Cheater!!!

Aaditya: “Aaye jaye suraj chahe jahan mein...tere bina mera ho na sawera!”

Shria: I know you are cheating...but I am enjoying it. Your turn now.

Aaditya: Here comes a kiss flying to my beautiful wifey....mmmuuaahh!!!

Shria: No yaar Aadi...I don’t want your kiss...play the game naL
A few minutes passed.

Aaditya: “Chhed Dun Main Kabhii Pyaar Se To Tang Hotii Ha...
Khaamkhwaah Chuum Lun To Bhii To Jung Hotii Hai...”

Shria: Ohoo...Aadi...superb!! Wait I will reply now...let me think!

Shria too checked her playlist. She was not able to think of any song. After a few searches, she texted him-

Shria: “Come to me...bhool jaye sarah jahan...
Come to me...hum bana le apni nayi jaga...”
I did not understand what to send. L

Aaditya: Anyways good one!

Shria: Oh Aadi baby...I will miss all this...I will miss you a lot!

She placed the pillow on her head and her eyes became watery. She was definitely going to yearn for Aaditya.

She saw all their happy and sad moments infront of her eyes. The memories, someone would pine for lifetime.

Her cell phone blinked in a few seconds.

Aaditya : “Doston Se Jhuuthii Muuthii Duusron Ka Naam Leke Phir Merii Baatien Karna
Yaara Raat Se Din Karna….Lambi Judaai Terii Bada Mushkil Hai
Aahon Se Dil Bharna… Yaara Raat Se Din Karna”  Love you..

Shria: Thankyou shona…I am so lucky to have you as my hubby…

Aaditya: So am I...now go to sleep Shri...you have a flight 2mro...good night!

Shria: “Chupke Se Lag Jaa Gale....Raat Kii Chaadar Tale...
Chaand ki bhi...aahat na ho..Baadal ke piche chale..”
If silence was a language then I will not speak for my entire life to describe my love for you! Good night!
