Amitabh Bachchan’s Kaun Banega Crorepati 6 takes the small screen by storm!

Now that was expected, right? Even so, the makers couldn’t help going gaga over the TRPs

Weeks before the season 6 of Kaun Banega Crorepati? went on air we saw Amitabh Bachchan sharing his hiccups and anticipation with us. The countdown began and finally the popular quiz show’s squeaky-shiny new season was aired on the night of September 7, 2012.
The tag line of this season – Sirf gyaan hi aapko aapka haq dilata hai – in AB Sr’s baritone voice soon caught on with the masses and we looked forward to a quiz that was tad bit more difficult than in previous seasons, the spotlight being on knowledge. And thanks to the buzz and nostalgia attatched to the show, the opening episode registered a Television Viewer’s Rating (TVR) of 6.1. Now that’s really commendable, right?
What’s more, the official website of KBC – KBCSony.com – has already registered one million page views in the opening week! Talking about it, Sneha Rajani, Sr EVP and Business Head SET says, “We are really pleased with the opening week results and there is a lot more to look forward to on the show in the days to come. Overall we are delighted at the performance of all our shows and over the next four to five weeks we aim to further consolidate our position.”
