The 50th Law - Jamie Dunn

I read a great book recently and it really got me thinking. How much does Fear
control our lives?
The 50th Law is the story about the success of the rapper turned entrepreneur,
turned investor, turned Philanthropist, 50 Cent. Robert Greene spent time
shadowing 50 cent in his career and then co-authored this book on the back of
it. 50 cent talks of the law he feels ultimately made him successful, the law he
speaks of is “fear.” If you don’t know much of 50 Cent’s story, he was once shot
9 times and recalls this as the incident that gave him the mindset to succeed. He
sums up that moment like this, “After I got shot nine times at close range and
didn't die, I started to think that I must have a purpose in life. How much more
damage could that shell have done?”
His law is about how fear holds people back from going after their dreams and he
talks practically of how to beat that sense of fear out of your life and achieve real
freedom in your being.
The word “Fear” really stands for “False Expectations Appearing Real.” All of the
things you THINK could go wrong, not what actually will go wrong. Imagine what
you could do if you suddenly had nothing holding you back and no fear of thing’s
going wrong.
